Enjoy your PSD and welcome..
I use Rotella T and Wix filters. I change every 3-4K miles and all is well in Ford PSD land.. I am thinking of putting on a bypass filter. For the money it looks like it would be good for the engine.

Enjoy your 1996! I just bought a 1997 6 weeks ago! I love it. This board is awesome! Do a search for oil information. You'll be blown away by all the resources...

I like motorcraft stuff but I think the most important thing is to make sure the oil you choose is diesel rated. Don't forget to drain your water separator. If you dont know when the fuel filter was last changed do it to.
