How much do you think my truck may be worth? Friends lookin at it
Hey guys kid from my school is looking at buying my old truck and he would like to know what you guys think about it. Its a 1989 F-150 4x4 302 v-8 5 speed manual. Its an xlt with pw,pl,tilt, crusie, sliding rear window, tach, AC (still works) dual tanks (both work) vent viosors on the windows, it also has a thick rubber mat for the bed. Now for the bad, the pass side door is all bondo but I have a new door to replace it, theres rust over the drivers side wheel well, the drivers side door has some rust along the bottom but it was treated and can be painted, it has 160,000miles but still runs strong and starts first time. The fuel pump needs to be replaced soon but the truck still runs. It has 15x8 american racing wheels, 31x10.5 cooper discovers at's with 25% tread left, also the 4 15x7 stock steel wheels with cooper radial AST'S 30x9.5 about 90% tread left and recent tune up and new warn gold maual locking hubs. I've never had a problem with it and the paint still looks real good. I'd like to get 1900-2000 for the truck. What do you guys think? Thanks.
We can't really help you, whats worth 2k in maine is worth 4k in florida, price varies. The net worth of a vehicle is just what someone is willing to pay for it.
From what you described it sounds like it worth +2k.
If the gas tanks are not rusting, oil pan is solid, rear main seal is not leaking, rear fenders not rusting , frame not rusting, radiator mounts still intact, not pinging on acceleration, life left on brake rotors, brake lines not rusting, power steering intact and the lower half of the cab is not rusting I'd think its in good shape. Goes into 4 hi/low good? In my eyes 2k he's getting a fair deal.
Like Justin said - price varys by what part of the country you're in, Kelly Blue Book factors that in, they tend to be a bit low in their estiments though.
