I know of a truck for sale that has the code W tranny. It's a 1995 Dually with a 460 and D5 rear axle. The W tranny is apparently different from the ZF tranny, but I don't know how it is different. Is this a heavier duty tranny than the ZF? I haven't seen much or anything written about it.

Thanks,
I'm thinking that the W-code might be the ZF-47 and the C-code was a ZF-42. The ZF-47 replaced the earlier ZF-42 in the mid-'90's as engine output increased. I remembered this after posting the question, but seeing you post that both W and C are both ZF tranny's kinda reaffirms it. Thanks,
Tony
