I am building a 56 F100 and thinking of covering the portion of dash below the Instrument panel over to left edge of glove box with some type of dash cover to spiff up the appearance. Maybe something like turned stainless steel.
Anyone know of parts source(s) for any types of dash covers??
I covered mine with the Rod Doors kit. It is ABS plastic and you trim it to fit then either paint it or apply upholstery. It comes with metal 1" angle material to make the mounts. There is also a piece for the left side of the dash between the steering wheel and the door. And it that wasn't enough, I also installed their cover for the bottom half of the steering wheel. All is covered with the same material I used on the door panels. If you are determined to use metal, then I think you will be needing to have it made by somebody that can bend and cut to fit. Good luck John
The Rod Doors panel look like a good way to go. Would you happen to have a current image of the dash with the Rod Doors panel installed? I checked you gallery and your truck is looking great.
Thanks Halfton, but I am still waiting on the final install of the rod doors underdash panel. I had it installed once only to have to take it back out to do a column replacement. I still need to replace a few wires also, but I will put pics on there though when it's back in. Good luck, John
