I have a 351w (from a 75 Torino) has a 2150 2 bbl, that is installed in my 66 F100. The problem that I have now is I cannot get the engine to run continiously. I can get it to fire up and it will run for about 5 seconds, and that is it. I rebuilt the carburetor this summer and the engine ran fine then, I just replaced the fuel filter and fuel pump and it is pumping fine. What can cause this not to run
I would check the plugs to make sure they are getting fuel. you might have the jets either to rich or to lean. check all the plugs and wires along with the cap and rotor. is there plenty of gas in the tank?
I have went over all the obvious things, plugs, wires, cap, and choke. I found that the electric choke was not getting power, (the wiring is a mess) I connected to a good 12v source but this did not solve the problem.
I am beginning to suspect a carburetor problem, I rebuilt it this summer, and did not really drive it except to pull it in and out of the garage, and around the yard while I was doing the bodywork.
sounds to me like a dist. problem take the dist. out and look inside at the wiring mabe pick up coil in dist. and also check in the block look at the cam gear and the gear on the dist. GOODLUCK man
