Which Starter??
I am in the early stages of building a '79 F250 400 with an AOD. It is an Art Carr trans, converter and adapter plate. The flexplate is 164 tooth. Can I use a 351M/400 starter, or do I need to go to a 351W starter. I realize that it bolts up to the transmission bellhousing and not to the block, but I'm confused as to which starter to use. I'm thinking if a Powermaster gear reduction unit. I appreciate any help you guys could give me.
