I have a f250 v10 with 3.73 rear, I am towing a 9100 pound travel trailer. What RPM can I run for long drives 300+ miles normal roads? I can't tow in overdrive the RPMs are to low, about 1900 at 65mph. It runs about 3200RPM at 70mph. Is that to high for long drives?
What is the peak torque rpm of that V-10? Under load you should be running close to that. 1900 is fine for a diesel or the old 4.9 I-6, but not for most gas V-8's. 3200 is not that high for modern OHC gas engines anyway. 55 is the speed limit when towing in California. Can you get away with towing at 70 in Minnesota?

Thank you for the info. 3200 just seemed to high for me. The speed limit is 65 and 70 on the interstates. We will be going to CO then to Rapid city SD this summer. This will be are first long trip.
