I've been using 30F - 35R, as per Ford recommendations, and keeping an eye on them. The tire store had loaded them 35 all around, but after I drove the vehicle a block and hit a few holes, I pulled over and dropped the fronts down.
Around town and for slow speed bumpy road travel carry 32 f, 36 r. For long distance trip at high speed or carrying a full load I run 36 f, 40 r. For trips with a full load and towing 5200 lbs, with a 520lb tongue load, I run 36 f, 44 r. After 16K miles on the Revo's, the tread wear is even and very slight.
Actually, my Expedition had Firestone Wilderness A/T's from the factory. For liability reasons, I would be very surprised if Bridgestone recommended different pressures than those endorsed by the car manufacturer.
PaulC,
What you don't realize is that the maximum rated pressure for the Revo's is 44lbs in the 17" size. The maximum pressure for standard load p metric tires is 35 lbs. So, the cheap tires the factory puts on are maxed out at 35lbs, the Revos give you more wiggle room in the same load rating.
I'm sure you're right, but Bridgestone, related to Firestone, which has been reeling from bad publicity from the Explorer/Wilderness A/T fiasco, is unlikely to put itself out on a legal limb by suggesting that any of it's tires be run at a pressure different than that recommended by the car company, even if it was obvious that the tire was up to it.
Two different issues here. Tire pressures that work well under different conditions, safely, or legal windmills. I leave jousting to lawyers and keep to safe, high performance trucking for myself.
