No, my 23 had the felt diaper that I took off and used this shield in its place. The original had 2 screws on the front that I reused. You will need 4 U-nuts and bolts to fit them, 2 for each side. The holes for the U-nuts were preexisting on mine which seems to be the case on all of the one that have mentioned it on here. They slide in thru the square hole to line up with the round bolt hole and will hold themselves in place. Some have paid Fords price for the bolts and nuts but I went to the local hardware and bought mine for about a third of quoted prices. In case you've never messed with U-nuts the threaded portion slips inside of the frame with the other tab outside. It's just a matter of wiggling things around to get all the bolts started and then snug them down. There is a separate piece that is a "door" to the oil drain plug available but I didn't use it on mine. Jim
Sorry, didn't pay close attention to the part number. Yes, quite a few have replaced the felt with a Ford part- HL3Z-7222-E. It's metal and covers more of the underside. It's not as serious as some aftermarket "skid" plates. I believe it's from a raptor and perhaps other models. Will hold up way better than felt and does a decent job of hiding the cats from thieves if that's a concern where you are. Jim
