Electrical issues with 2 trucks
The first truck has a problem with the battery light flickering cant figure out whats causing it to flicker
what we have explored already with it and done to find the issue is both alternators tested at orally's, added extra ground to alternators and brand new batteries. The truck does have a dual alternator system on it
The second truck is draining the main battery but not the secondary but will run off of the main when removing the secondary. We are trying to figure out if this is the alternator or the battery.

I have a friend with a 01 250,4x4 ,73. He had a issue with the alt light staying on or intermittent a couple years ago??? The fix was a chafed or broken wire in the dash that runs from pass side to the cluster or something like that. Best I recall he had to basically have the dash removed to access it. I'll get a hold of him and get better details of things later today.

I heard back from my buddy. It turned out to the the alternator exciter wire. A mouse had chewed through the wire loop next to the passenger battery. Best of my recollection it was not easily visible and took a shop some time and tests to track it down.
