Door Ajar Will Not Go Out.

DOOR AJAR LIGHT WILL NOT GO OUT. 4 DOORS ALL CLOSE FINE.
DISCONNECTED THE BATTERY, SAME RESULT.
ANY SUGGESTIONS?

never mind the old forum discussion about using wd-40 worked.
some king of good stuff it is.

I went and bought a new door switch for $11.00 for my '99 and didn't get to put it in yet.Saw the WD-40 trick on here,tryed it and it worked.Ain't that some stuff!!

Have 2 fords at work
1993 ford ranger
2000 f250 super duty
2000 f350 dump truck
the door ajar chime and light and also the interior lamp would come on in both of these trucks.
We changed the switch in the f350 only to have the problem reoccur within 6 months.
I did a search last year and read several articles on the wd 40 solution so I tried and so far the problem has been fixed in both vechicles.
