I need to replace the rear axle assembly on a 2004 F53 Motorhome chassis, specifically a Winnebago sightseerer 30b. It is a Dana 80 with a 5.38 gear ratio. Apparently mine was submerged enough that it is all rust inside and it may not be tebuildable
I know they made a lot of these, but I cannit find one anywher
thanks
[QUOTE=CathedralCub;21824923]There are a few motorhome junkyards around the nation that should have plenty of these available.
What's wrong with your current one (besides the rust)?[/QUOTE
The rust destroyed the bearings and chipped a gear tooth. Mechanics said they would have to remove the housing, sand blast it a d then put.all new gears erc in. Cost $5K
I.found one a Jask parts on line, now if it gets shipped soon I will be back in business. Apparently there are only two RV salvage yards in existence??
