Pulled my 5.8 on my 96 to reseal the engine. Truck sat for years so just about every gasket and seal is hardened and leaking. I’ve got a new PCV valve and grommet that goes into the valve cover but does anyone know the part number or where to find the plastic cap? From what little info I can find, it’s unique to the 96 models.

what’s wrong with yours? It’s a baffled air vent like the crankcase takes fresh post-maf(if applicable) air into the engine and it has baffles to lower the air velocity/not splash oil into the air stream I think

Nothing, but since I have the plenum off, it would be nice to replace. That makes sense, thanks for the info!
4.9 part. Port going into the grommet is 3/4". Hose barb is 1/2".
The L hose is 3/4 on both ends on my 94 5.8. Is your hose different?
Seems like it would be great at stopping oil vapors getting sucked up, once you work out the hose issue.
I appreciate the part info. I’ll look at picking that up. The elbow on mine is large at the end that the PCV valve sits in than the side that goes into the breather. No luck finding locally. The 96 is an oddball year.
What about swapping a '95 and earlier cover on that bank to make life easier?
That's a good idea and I may have to do it in the future with these hard to find 96 specific items. I want to slap the engine back in the truck this weekend so I don't have the patience to wait on parts.
