Mine came loose long ago when I pulled to open them. I used an epoxy to reattach both. It worked, but since then I just sealed them with clear silicone, tinted all 4 panes, then put a single 1/8" pop rivet in the track to lock them, removed the latch.
Been thinking I might put a metal latch in and remove that rivet and use a stick behind each one?
