Other car companies' self-driving or driver assist all use similar eye and face recognition features for some time now. Toyota uses a camera to track your eyes on the newer vehicles when out into auto cruise mode. Tesla also has been doing it for many years now.
People who think this is something new have not been paying attention to the car market, at all.

The rollout was fast once people decided it was a critical feature to have cars that can steer for them on top of adaptive cruise control, levels 2 and 3 autonomous driving require drivers to be in charge of the vehicle so the driver has to be alert and ready to intervene at any time.

I would love to know an exhaustive list of where all of the interior cameras are located on a 2024 F450 Limited. I would rather have a hobbled truck than be surveilled against my will.
Take a video inside a truck with adaptive cruise. You will be able to see the IR cameras above the APIM and on the trim inside the driver's side mirror.
