exhaust

I was wondering if you quys were purchasing aftermarket exhausts or if you would just advise to fabricate your own?

If purchasing what kind kits ect

If fabricating whats the best way to go knock out cats and muffler or just hack em off and start over with a nice 4 inch pipe strait all the way back?

thanks for any opinions ideas ect.

I bought a 3.5" DP and from there on back I used 4" straight pipe all the way to the OEM location. The entire cost was about $225-$250 including beer & pizza for the use of a buddies lift. I used a Advance Auto, Ford Super Duty "over the axle"pipe 4" in dia. and only $44. The rest was 4" straight pipe and a reducer from 4" to the 3.5"DP.

I did exactly what Ggg6 did, except buy my buddy beer and pizza. Later I added a muffler.
