2004 F-150 Heritage, I had the windshield removed and resealed by a glass shop about 5-6 years ago due to it leaking and dripping from the passenger side grab handle during rains. When they had the windshield out there was rust on the passenger side top of the window channel. Believed to have been the cause of the leak. They "treated" the rust by wire wheeling and painting it before reinstalling the windshield. The leak has returned, when looking under the top molding I can see the paint they applied is loosing it's bond. I'm thinking about taking a shot at fixing this. What would my best bet be at removing the windshield? The glass is in good shape, no cracks or filled chips that I know of. Won't know the extend of the damage until the window is removed but when looking up from inside the channel appears to be solid. What's the typical method of permanently fixing something like this?

In English. It sounds as if the rust treatment and resealing were not permanent enough. To fix the problem properly, you should first carefully remove the windshield. Usually, a special glass remover is used for this purpose to loosen the pane without damage. Once you've removed the window, you should clean the rust spots thoroughly, sand them down again if necessary, and then treat them with an anti-rust primer. The area should then be resealed with a suitable sealing material. It's important to make sure that the rust doesn't go deeper before proceeding with the sealant.
