94 explorer starting issue

94 explorer starting issue

My explorer only clicks when turning the key- sometimes.
Could this possibly be just a bad connection ?
Starter is new, battery is good....
any idears ?

Try to check negative battery cable connection. It could be possible reason. Never seen such an issue on my Ex, so I cannot be more specific. I believe the problem is with the cable connection to the truck's body or engine or something -- where the cable is connected to the ground.

Also check battery cable terminals, they could be corroded.

The 'click' that you refer to, is it coming from the starter or the solenoid on the fenderwell/firewall? Could be a bad cable, solenoid, or starter. Start by checking all cable connections.
