Having a ton of issues even after replacing my rear camera, harness from the camera and tailgate lock as well as the harness from that, that goes to the 2 plugs on the inside of the receiver hitch on the driver side. Messed with it yesterday and the smaller plug in that harness is 6 wires for the camera. I think since the rest is new, the truck side harness plug is not good. Has anyone hardwired in that spot? I saw 1 YouTube video where he did. I bought butt connectors that are the waterproof solder built in type and most likely will attempt this. The biggest hurdle is getting enough wire pulled down to strip and connect from the truck side.
Well connector is deleted and camera is clear as a bell. We will see if it still is first thing in the morning, that's when I have the most trouble with it. Since the tailgate side wire harness was new, I am assuming the truck side harness was the issue. The connections got wrapped, then stuffed back into a piece of larger wire loom I had and wrapped again.
That blue portion is a glue or some sort of sealant, they oozed clear glue out of the ends slightly. With those being soldered and glued, wrapped in electrical tape, put in a loom, then wrapped again, I am trusting it more than the hundreds of reports of that connector failing.
Maybe I could have done better. But twisted together, soldered, sealed with heat activated glue, heat shrunk, wrapped in electrical tape, placed in a loom and wrapped again will out last my use of the truck.

Well as to be expected, that was short lived. No dew overnight, low was 68, bad picture first thing. 30 minutes later, back into work and clear as can be.
just spit balling, question, wonder if the wind was just right to fog over lens, after starting, ever try the anti-fog, made by rainx, does remarkably well on door mirrors, in dew mornings.

There was no dew, you think its the camera lense causing this?
