Going to go see the truck on Thursday afternoon. I will get some good pictures of the undercarriage and engine compartment.
I am stereotyping but I think he’s an old timer. His message back to me had 2 numbers to call him at. Home has an answering machine. His flip phone does not have voicemail.
IMO It’s a sharp truck. I keep thinking it would be even cooler if it had the champagne color along the bottom also, with the light color as an accent down the middle …… like trucks had in the 70’s……. Not sure if any super duties were ever painted that way from the factory
The body is super clean looking with clear coat intact. Says that it has been carport stored its entire life. Front bumper on both sides was rusted through on the bottom where the tires would throw rocks and dirt.
Frame has some surface/pitting rust.
Box has rust at both sides of wheel lip but only on the back side. Drivers was just starting to show. Passenger side was getting bad.
Bottom lip of tailgate showed signs on the inside but skin was still ok.
It has rails for a 5th wheel installed and is rough at the outside box rails to the point where you can see through the bed, but 6” away it looks mint.
Degas bottle looked crispy but antifreeze smelt good.
Engine is dirty but not disgusting. Oil looked good, recently changed. Fired up in about 2 seconds but he said I was the second person to look at it today. It wasn’t a cold start.
Interior is really clean and didn’t smell funky. Some age/wear cracking in the drivers side seat leather but no tears anywhere.
I rolled up in my truck so he was eager to talk to me.
He’s selling for a buddy that bought it brand new. Stated that there is a leak at the passenger side exhaust manifold.
