I have received the 26C10/26V104 recall notice for my 2026 6.7. The way I read the notice, the truck will update if "automatic updates are turned on standard from the factory." How do I know if they were turned on from the factory? I think I remember turning them on myself in the App.
For 26E01, what are the chances that it’s an update to remove limp mode if DEF is depleted in a remote area? I’d class that as both emissions and safety related.
I thought about that too... I figure if it is though, it will come out in time. Until then though, I would rather not get an unknown update that's "emissions" based...

You can manage this setting from both the Sync 4 screen and the Ford mobile app.

my dealer called me to confirm the PCM update will occur VIA OTA this is for 26E01 PCM
he had no idea what changed in the PCM,
and the trailer brake takes about 30 minutes of ship time 26C10
anyone think both are related to the TBC issues of loss of communication
or the DEF engine power reduction re map

Interesting - my dealer confirmed that 26E10 had to be done by a tech and would not be pushed OTA. The message in the Ford app for the recall also said to contact your dealer to have it performed.
26C10 on the other hand explicitly calls out OTA in the Ford app details.

i have a long drive tomorrow maybe it will do the deed
i am not real thrilled about a pcm update as truck is perfect right now,

My dealer did the 26E01, 26C10, and 26P02 (DDM & PDM update) yesterday. So far I noticed one quirk and it was my DTE was way off what it should be. I figured since there was a PCM update that my fuel tank size was reset to factory specs, and after connecting Forscan I verified this to be true. I changed the tank size to 48 gallons (Titan 55 gallon tank) and my DTE is now corrected. I have not noticed any differences in how the truck performs at this point.

According to the recall information, 26C10 was simply an OTA update, which is capable on trucks equipped with Sync4 via automatic updates. These other "emission" recalls actually require a PCM reflash, and I was pretty sure that a reflash could only be done via IDS or FDRS, not OTA. This means taking your truck in, or having a mobile tech come out and actually hooking up to your truck via OBD2 port. But if they could actually reflash a module like this OTA, that would be scary and I would disable it too... what if they decided to go ahead and do it while you are in the middle of driving across country... No thanks!
These are the ones I wouldn't trust, at least until more information about them are released.... and as I pointed out earlier from the thread over on the Tremor site, even a Ford mobile tech said he would pass on them...

I am sure you are aware, but S&B makes a module that doesn't require you to make any changes via Forscan and will actually set it for 60 gallons rather than 48 gallons. And while Titan tries to call out "other companies" for calling their tanks a 60 gallon tank, they make sure to say in their notes that their "55 gallon tank" is really a 60 gallon tank too, so this module would be correct for it.

Yes I'm aware of it. 48 is close enough for me for the DTE, plus it saves me $300.
Also, wanted to add to the S&B discussion. I plant to purchase the 60 gal tank, but am waiting for S&B to solve the truck-stop high-volume fill issue. I would think they can just copy the solution Titan came up with.
FWIW, I am a retired master technician with another brand and once any update is referred to as recall it now involves the government and it's regulations. It can be a correction of a safety problem as in the trailer brake module update or an emissions/driveability correction most likely with the EPA changes to DEF problems. Most dealership personnel are strongly encouraged to perform these updates/recalls when your vehicle is presented for any other reason but they shouldn't be done without informing the customer of the recall first. Most dealership customer facing personnel will have little technical knowledge of what is being done, just a general knowledge of what system is being affected and why. For those who don't want any changes to your computer systems there is no reason that I know that you can't refuse to have them done, hence the option to turn off OTA updates within the system itself. These computers are linked together with multiple CAN BUS systems and updating one may force a slight update to another that is linked for performance reasons. Any time an ECU is reprogrammed it causes loss of communication codes in the other linked ECU's and those must be cleared during the process which is why in some cases some of these other ECU's are reset to factory defaults. I have had very few ECU's brick and the cause has always been a battery voltage problem so I find it relatively safe but the changes are sometimes annoying to the customers. I personally wouldn't hesitate to have these done but I am running a completely stock truck and prefer it that way. Just someone else's 2 cents
