Hello FTE, I recently put on cab lights on my truck but instead of running them to a switch I want to tie them to the running lights, any ideas on how to? I have the bezel taken off but I need help figuring out which wires are there and how to pull the lights switch. Thanks
Why not put in a Bosch relay and tap into the running lights' hot wire as the trigger for the relay? Easy to wire, you'll get a better current to the lights. and no more load on your poor tired-out old headlight switch. Or go whole hog - buy one of the relayed headlight harnesses people all over the internet sell for $30-50 and really spare your switch, plus get brighter lights all around.

That sounds good, will consider and I might do that
I found that just adding the Bosch relay harness to my '78 brightened up the sealed-beams substantially. Changing over to halogens made it comparable most cars on the road. Halogen conversions are much cheaper than LED conversions, too. They do suck more power though, so the relay harness becomes essential.
X3 better than tapping into the ol wiring harness. I am trying to remember where the OEM cab light harness plugs into. Been a few days sine I unplugged a cab light (Roof Clearance) wiring harness. Go to the bottom of this diagram and look at the Roof Clearance to see how it is wired.
You can't see them too well but they are mounted on the lowest part of the brush guard.
They were wired via a toggle switch.
They didn't work when I got the truck and I took the brush guard off just a few days after buying the truck.
Look at that of PS fluid under the truck.
And that was only about an hour after it was parked there.
Kenny he is talking about CAB lights, aka chicken lights, roof tops, roof clearance lights. But I dig your old school cattle/brush guard and your lights.

I just saw that in another thread.
My post was still some good information whether anyone needs or or not.
