Possible to bypass clutch-pedal safety switch?
At some point in the past, someone tried to start their "manual transmission" vehicle while the vehicle was "in gear". As a result, the truck lurched forward (or in reverse). It's possible there may have been some injuries. However, there have been a few situations where I was able to move my "non running" vehicle by engaging the starter with an older vehicle transmission in gear.
When I first started noticing a clutch pedal safety-switch in an old vehicle I had bought, it had two wires and was easy to bypass when needed, and then return it to its normal function afterwards.
My '94 F-150 has an obvious clutch-pedal switch on the arm of the pedal, and I am reluctant to "experiment" because the socket to the harness has quite a few wires going into it. It is easy to "unplug", but that does not allow the starter to be turned over with the transmission in gear.
I thought I'd check here first to see if there is a solution already on record...
