Boost Leak??
My 99 Powerstroke developed a loud hissing sound at low RPM takeoff.When my boost gauge reaches about 5lbs I here the hiss and my gauge will drop to zero.If I start leaning into the throttle it will stop and my boost will go back to normal.It seems to be worse when the truck is cold and somtimes it will stop doing it after I drive it for a while.Any help would be appreciated.

On my 99' PSD I had a exhaust leak, It was the clamp that tightens the exhaust pipe to the turbo, it had loosened up and rotated down, was very loose, and loud, I believe I used a 1/4 drive ,7/16 deep socket, and it fixed the problem! Oh yeah at the same time I did find 2 turbo bolts had backed out, and were laying on top of the turbo mount(center of turbo)some blue locktite on the bolts fixed them.
