Crossmember for 1947 T5 swap
Not a T5, but an automatic. I cut the center out of the factory crossmember to clear the trans. and used a Speedway trans. crossmember intended for the '53-'64 pickups (720-4136). Keeping in mind the lost support for the frame rails/ brake master and park brake anchor after cutting the factory crossmember, I tied the factory crossmember back together, above and below the trans. with supports that could be removed for trans. R&R. I also fabricated some pieces to tie the factory crossmember to the new one. This was to add support fore and aft, keeping the factory crossmember from flexing during foot and parking brake use. There are probably other ways to do this, but I wanted to keep it simple and have everything fit under the factory trans. cover.

I don't recall having to make any modifications to it. It's attached to the top side of the bottom frame rails. I did make up a spacer at the trans. mount area (center), to get the rubber trans. mount to the correct height.
awesome thanks again for the help!
