Looking for the seat belt warning device wiring within the EVTM for my 2005 E-350 E-Series, this one does have the "fly by wire" Can-Bus system from the factory.
The installed warning buzzer has possibliy failed as it no longer alerts me when I'm exiting the vehicle and gave left the parking lights still on. Any help locating the section of the factory printed EVTM would be greatly appreciated, a cell number ect. I have a factory buzzer from what I think is a compatible year as a plug-n-play replacement.
Because the device is part of the SRS and headlight wiring I'm having a tough time finding it in both the EVTM and the fan itself. Brain fade?
Big part of it is in diagram 66-1. I haven't found the actual buzzer module yet, maybe you have run across that? Is it in the instrument cluster? Is that it in the center of 66-1?
You guys have helped quite a bit----I see why I can't find an actual device as its part of the I C. Oddly enough that was recentally repaired or exchanges by Cicuit Board Medics. There seems to be another switch or "trigger" for the lights left on feature.
I did encounter a wired connection block holding two relays that night be key to my situation. I'll gave to dig into that a bit more.
I may be relegated to cobbling my own work around circuit similar circuit for the head lights left on warning chime so the question becomes for a 2000 E-250 w/stock electrical system know for certain this is a physical device (holding one in my hand just now). Where can it's electrical schematic be found in the corresponding printed factory EVTM?
I can do a relatively quick mock up if of a suitable circuit I can patch into the 05 chassis. TIA once again!
I modified the chime module in my '97 so it only chimed when the headlights were left on. Here is a sketch of the module and the function of each wire. You should be able to wire yours easily.
Since you know your way around the IC, you may want to try and repair yours. Here's what I would consider: harvest one from Pick N Pull. I know this is marginally moral, but you will never find a new replacement part.
You can't really go to the junkyard on the newer models (probably 2002-up) because all these modules and instrument cluster are part of the vehicles communication network and one from the junkyard will not be recognized in the system. You can take it to a dealer or if you have a fancy scanner they can marry a foreign instrument cluster or module into the vehicle. I am not sure if Forscan can do this function or not.
It's very simple to wire in a headlight reminder buzzer, I put them in all my older vehicles that do not have it. Just a 12v DC buzzer and a diode is all that is needed for parts.
Everything posted so far is exceptionally helpful and greatly appreciated too----thanks sooooo much guys! When weather improves so I can work outside I'll get to this so your contributions and ideas will not/gave not been ignored!!!!
