Please help identifying this relay

I have a 1985 F150 and can't determine what this relay is called. It is located between the ashtray and the steering wheel at the bottom of the dash near the EEC wiring box/ harness. I have a mechanical fuel pump so I am suspecting it is the EEC/ ECM relay?!? The reason for this is that I need to replace it because it continually clicks after the truck is off and drains the battery. It is also very difficult to get off of the brown pigtail/harness (still haven't gotten it off} A picture is attached. Thank you!

Go to your local NAPA and get the replacement from them. They will know. I think it's a common part used in a number of places on the trucks.

Try EEC power relay.

The colors do match the EEC relay in the diagram above. The white with blue dots wire is what powers the relay to on. So that would be what is making it click on and off. The diagram above says it comes from page 29. Here is page 29.

You can see the white/lightblue that is making the relay click is also hooked into the coil + wire. I would see if I had voltage on and off there when it was not supposed be there. You can see the wire from the first diagram comes from the lower right of the diagram in this post.

Thank you very much Max Capacity! You did choose the correct engine and I haven't seen this diagram before. I believe you are correct. Many thanks for the Napa referral as well. I'm off on my mission now.

Thank you Franklin2! I will locate the White/LtBlue wire coming out of the EEC Dist. Module and test. It doesn't seem to be hooked up to the relay but that could be the issue why it is not getting the resistance to shut off. Dang, you guys are good! Much appreciated.

As much as it pains me to admit, I must agree with Dave. The relay itself is not the root cause of the problem. The control circuit is weakly energizing the electromagnet (inside the relay) when it should not.

For a similar example off the top of my head: You shut off the headlights but the bulbs remain dimly illuminated. That is not a bulb problem.

I wonder, if he has a sticky ignition switch in the colume...? Maybe spraying it with a WD40 might help if that's what the issue is... ?

I'm just guessing... Dave and Karl are the smart guys.
