Well, I got so much good information regarding fixing my proportioning valve I now have encountered another issue. as I’ve driven the truck around it appears that the master cylinder is leaking and additionally see paint destruction on the booster. It may just be leaking from the cap and I have ordered a new seal. But in the event, I need a new master cylinder, I may go ahead and replace The master cylinder and booster. as this is a new project for me I was wondering what people thought is the best, simple, daily driver approach. Replace Stock or upgrade or aftermarket? Truck is a 1975 F250, 2wd, disc drum combo and 8100 VGW. Thanks again. I really appreciate the input.

Stock parts with the new booster and master cylinder all ready bolted together. Some times a repop or overhauled stock brake booster might be a little hard to locate. Be careful about the brake booster brake rod getting out of adjustment, when you seperate the 2 to bench bleed the master cylinder. Just do not let the road fall out and get kicked around the shop.
Thanks very much for all the info and the link. Lots of options to think about. I like the hydro boost as not too much more than a higher end reg power booster. Just need to think about my ps pump or the clearance on my 460 valve covers. I assume I just use my stock proportioning valve either way? I got the new master cylinder cover and gasket on today so I’ll check for leaks tomorrow. Thanks again.

Very Happy with BattleBorn. Got a MC and Booster from him for my '73 F250 and was of good quality. And he answers quickly any questions that you might have https://www.battlebornbrakes.com/fordbrakes
Glad to see another brake post, all these old trucks and I seem to be the only one that needed some brake help. Mine is a 75 F100 351C (cammed w/16"Hg) disc/disc, I had to take out the disc drum set up that the previous owner installed. I looked at hydro boost but went with a MBM kit and disc/disc proportional valve. I had issues with the pedal assembly, and still do. Kinda of sloppy, I have a few posts here and there you can look up.
Post of picts of what you got, pedal assembly as well please.
Currently I have the Stock set up booster and master cylinder. Disc drum set up. Proportioning valve is leaking a bit so found a NOS part. I’ll take it apart and see how the seals look. For now I was able to save the master cylinder by cleaning the cap, putting a new gasket in the cap and sanding smooth the master cylinder body. Now I get a good seal and no leaks.
