Still waiting for TT to update so I can put my equipment purchases in for last years startup. Finally seeing a refund after 5 years of just regular non business working between me and the wife. I thought that having zero deductions AND applying a set amount from each paycheck would suffice and not owe, nope, still wound up paying taxes each year. Seems like I owed more in taxes AFTER the tax cuts were put in place. Hopefully this year (2026) will be better as my wife is putting in a bunch of OT, and I am trying to get my business off the ground. I can't file until the ao99-R get fixed, I retired last year, the pension checks for putting in the IRA kept getting lost so that didn't get applied until THIS year, and there was a distribution portion sent to me that they didn't take taxes out of, and instead of getting two 1099-r for the rollover and distribution I got one for the full amount with 0 tax. Then 3 weeks later get the correct 1099 R but they are not corrected, which means I now have double the "income" than I actually got and have to get that fixed. Then I found my wife had domes some rollovers into her new 401K, and only one was properly done, the other was sent as a distribution and since she is only 51, we get nailed for early withdrawal, yet she NEVER got the money, and is trying to get them to get it fixed, which means now she paid taxes on money that should have gone into a 401K. Then a third she got one for $78, taxable amount $78, yet it all went to fees so she actually got $0. Try to figure THAT crap out. Had I known she had such a mess with her rollovers I would have gone with a tax professional instead of paying for the software. Wish I could just tell the IRS to F Caw F

 

Filed my Fed taxes on the evening of 2/10. Looked at my bank accounts this morning and see that my refund amount is showing pending, for 2/18 deposit into my checking account. 8not bad.days....
