NO DEF

I heard that 2027 FORD will come out with a new diesel engine without DEF that right?If it is thru that will be a great news.

Not that I have heard for the Super Duty, now, they are supposed to be defeating the derate and shutdown for running out of DEF, so you can drive to a place to get it refilled, but I think it is still limited by time or miles or something.

This is my understanding as well. DEF will still be on your truck, but it won't pull power or make you shut it off right away.

The new rule is 4,000 miles after empty and another rule maybe coming is no derate because of faults.

Even if it does come out, which is rumored, it will be full emissions compliant with EGR, DPF, DEF. Theyare talking sequential turbos on it though.

No manufacturer is going to do away with it when they know in a couple years they'll have to bring it back. just some programing tweaks.
