i have a 1991 aerostar shorty that i believe to be a sport. its got the running boards and the sport stickers. however wikipedia says 1992 was the first year of the sports. ive also seen long aerostars made up as sports.

They may have done some testing with the sport in 91. The first one I ever saw was on a transport truck in Michigan in 92. Yes they did make the Sport in the ext length.
