Replace Bed Camera

Hello,

I have a 2026 F250 with 360 camera systems. I will be adding a camper shell to the truck soon, such that the bed view camera will be blocked. Is anyone aware of how to add a remote camera and have it replace the bed view camera? That way I can use the trucks display to view the camera. I am either going to add a camera on the shell or put one on the back of a trailer.

I contacted Zorg industries and they said they did not have a solution. There are lots of replacement cameras for the tailgate out there on the web, but I couldn't find one for the cargo area.

To be even more flexible, if I could put a second camera on the same input with a switch I could revert to the bed camera easily. There is a chance I will be pulling the shell off once a year or so to haul a 5th wheel trailer.

Thanks in advance and if this is covered somewhere else any links would be appreciated. (I could not find any threads about this.)

Bob

I would suggest you may not want to do anything, the camera harnesses can be somewhat finicky. Heck I've had bad experiences just trying to take a tailgate off and putting it back on, and having the tailgate camera work properly after.

If your truck has the option for the integrated trailer-mounted camera, you could mount one on the trailer and be just fine - you might even be able to rig it up so it can mount inside your topper so you have a bed view. If not, I'm not sure how you'd add one.

However, the center-mounted high brake light camera (bed camera) only activates when you select it, it doesn't automatically come up for reverse or on the 360° view, so blocking it should have no ill effects. You won't be able to see what's going on in your bed with the topper on, but that would be the only drawback.
