I admire your patience and fortitude. You're a better man than I am, Gunga Din and that is why I am not going to attempt what you have done. It is not your work quality but the space situation and conditions that you have to work in are so ugly. (there is no other word ) I know and understand of your dislike for under dash units but none of them as far as installation goes is going to be as bad as the Gen 5 in a '56. I will accept unattractive over relative ease of installing. especially as the panel will be a hand-me-down for my granddaughter some day. Thank you for your preservience in this, I think you saved me a enormous amount of unneeded stress.

I'm on my last build with this one, I ordered the Gen 5 figuring it would be not much different than the Gen 2 which took a lot of space. Vintage Air only installed this unit in a 53 F100 and only assumed that the wiper rod needed to be moved to opposite sides and would function properly. Wish I could post the short videos I made showing how they worked . Those defrost ducts are completely different in shape in the 53-55 trucks . I would not recommend this unit at all for anyone with a 56. There is a lot of bugs to figure out..one thing I can say is the fan on this thing blows stronger than the Gen 2..
