Bed board dimensions

Howdy, I'm looking at redoing my boards on my '82 Flareside F150 and looking for the actual width\dimensions of the 7 boards that go in the bed, does anyone have those? Thanks,

See how this compares to your bed.

Bed Board Dimenesions

Franklin2,
Thanks for the drawing but it doesn't represent the bed for the year I'm looking for.
There are three diffenet widths of boards that go in the bed of an '82 F150

I thought they were all the same till they went to plywood?
I guess you could measure the ones you have being you say there are 3 different ones?
I thought there was someone that sold the blocks and boards for our trucks just cant think of the name right now.
Also do you have the metal strips if not I dont think you can get them for the boards only for the plywood flooring.

I looked into this think 8 years ago and when I seen the prices for the metal cross members, blocks, wood, metal strips and hardware I went in a different direction.
I used a style side metal ribbed floor with the sides cut off and shorter and bolted the flare side sides to the floor.

Dave,
Good morning, my previous boards are a little on the rough side (10+ yrs old - Mar-K) and have been redone twice. The TX heat and humidity doesn't treat them well, no matter what coating you put on them. I have an idea to utilize a composite board w\ my SS rails, so that I don't have to redo them every 5 yrs.
Thanks,
Steve

The upkeep is 1 reason why I did not want to have a wood bed floor.
The other is I wanted to use the truck at times and id not want to hurt the wood floor.
That and I did not have the money to go wood so I used the bed from m parts truck, 1 side was crushed in a roll over so it was scrap.

I hope you do a post on the composite wood floor with pictures as I and sure others would like to see it.

For a beautiful and tough wood truck bed consider tropical hardwoods. An alternative to composite that will be tough and a lot better looking.

I think that would be fine if it was a show truck as the wood would not be cheap and then to use the truck as a truck and hurt the wood you might as well used cheap stuff and just replace every few years.
The only thing I would worry about any of the bed floor used is how it stands up to UV rays if the truck is outside all the time?
The OP said that is what killed his wood so what would stand up to the UV rays & heat?

The one I did was a working truck, not a show truck. I used treated decking boards. That with a little thompsons every year will last at least 10 years, probably more. Same as a deck you have in on your house.

Tropical hardwoods are very dense and heavy. Can take some abuse for sure. It will be more money than composite but fortunately you dont need a lot of it. You can oil the boards to help longevity, water resistance. If you have never had experience with these dense woods it's not like your typical North American lumber. Almost like iron. That said if you want to haul junk you can toss in a sheet of plywood over the top for extra protection. But in my experience with the very dense varieties you probably can work your truck without the plywood.

Group,
Thanks for the ideas and I'll check them out. I've retired and was planning on doing the bed one and final time. I've dropped a the 5.0 engine in it, so its a bit of a sleeper, and plan on getting it painted
