Looking to replace the stock piece of tin on my 2021 F-250 with something heavy duty. Something that will offer some true resistance if a car runs into the back of the truck.
As I started shopping I'm learning there's a lot of disparity in quality of material. Just because something looks heavy duty, it may not be due to how thin the steel is. I'm seeing a lot name brands that are only 14 gauge steel. Some are a heavier 5/32", but they're scarce. I'd like to go with 3/16".
Thoughts? Any firsthand feedback and purchases made without regret?
Looks like it’s built like a beast. Price to match, but buy once, cry once. I wish the brush guard/bumper on the front of my truck was constructed of such solid material.
Thank you for that recommendation of the Fab Four‘s Vengeance series rear bumper. Being constructed out of just 11 gauge steel, I’m wanting something heavier. 5/32” at a minimum and 3/16” would be even better. I’m strongly leaning towards getting the rear bumper made by Buckstop.
Don’t need to go too heavy. They are still mounted to the same spot that is designed to crumple. While the bumper may look better, it’s still getting pushed into the body of the truck when hit.
AEV 8s supposed to have ford stuff soon. Everythi g ram has. Id wait.
Thanks for the advice. I’m waiting for Ranch Hand to get back with me regarding a material question I have on one of their bumpers before settling on anything. Regardless, I’ll be waiting a bit to save up some more money. Going better quality translates to a higher price 🤑🤑🤑

Eh, I just put a Road Armor on mine yesterday and the brackets are heavier and the bumper is much heavier. It mounts near where the hitch mounts. These have crumple zones but not like an F150 does.
The stock ones get dinged easy. Might as well sell it good if this is something that is of concern.
I think the mix of fabricated and tubing looks a bit doofy.
One thing I like about the ICON is the smooth & clean lines on it. I had work trucks that had attachments & mounts welded to them and after banging knees & shins too many times I wanted a smooth & clean bumper.
6 week lead time on the Buckstop?
I ordered my ICON on a Wednesday and it was delivered the following Tuesday.

Maybe they will have a less optioned bumper when they release it. I like a more heavy duty stock bumper option. Smooth lines are preferred with me.
