223 question

Hello all,
I have this 223 in my '63 F500 that I pulled to reseal & clean up.

Found this bolt & washer covered in RTV, threaded in on the driver's side closest to the rear of the engine. Is there a correct plug available for this?

I tried searching around online for diagrams and such, all I could find was threads saying it's a coolant drain.

Thanks in advance.

That name I had heard thrown around.

I'll have to pressure test the cooling system on the stand. I had coolant on the bottom of the transmission & on the throwout bearing, so it's coming from somewhere.

That road draft tube was there for a reason. All motors prior to the invention of the PCV ....positive crankcase ventilation valve, used this system for the engine to breath. Air enters the oil fill cap, due to vacuum from the road draft tube created by driving down the road. to simply just close it off, you will make crankcase pressure that needs to go somewhere. For example, my 1952 ****** m38 army jeep. ****** figured there is about 3 lbs of pressure in the crankcase from piston movement. They use this pressure to pressurize components for deep water crossings. Close a valve on the dash, and the crankcase pressure is routed to the transmission, transfercase, distributor, gas tank, so that in theory, air is going out instead of water going in. My ****** carrying some vets in the parade. The guy needing a haircut is me

Class dismissed.

Your 223 probably had the same system used on the 262.
