Electrical Pin Kit?

Boys and Girls,

Been thinking of getting a kit of spare electrical contacts. Nothing specific needs repair. Just hoping to find a nice assortment of contacts to have on hand.

Unfortunately, most of the kits I’ve seen so far have contacts much smaller than we’d commonly find in our ancient trucks. Does anybody have a recommendation for a kit appropriate for wiring from the 80s?

Here is one random example similar to what I was hoping to find:

Amazon Amazon

I don’t need release/insertion tools or crimpers. I’m all set there. Just hoping to find an assortment of contacts good for vintage wiring.

Not sure if this is what your looking for but, someone on here gave me this years ago. Google that name and see what comes up.

Oh yeah, I know NAPA had the pigtail for the temp sensor that had corroded terminals. But, I'm sure you know that, just posted for others that may not, if they can use a OEM style replacement.

The kit I have I got years ago from Summit Racing but they are weather pack male / female and they fit a 70 AMC wiring when I added aftermarket gauges to the car.
I am guessing you want to replace for the same type of connector?

Hot on the trail now with your suggestion. I poked around the Au-Ve-Co catalog. They offer kit #19445 with GM connectors. That was the only kit I could find, and I'm not sure if any of those are applicable to Ford. Not willing to gamble $70 on that particular kit, but I'll keep looking.

Maybe call them and see if their Tech Support guys/gals know what might work.

I'm sure you're not the first person to ask.

Professor?

Because aftermarket parts are so bad I don’t blame you for wanting to have stuff on hand. I have picked up used spare OEM door hinges and other things over the years to have on just in case but I don’t have a need for a box of wiring terminals. When was the last time you had to replace one or many of those? I have never needed to do that on my Broncos, Bronco II or F-150. The PO of my CJ had cut the ends off all of the parking and marker lights so I replaced the OEM connectors with Weather Pack.

I have replaced a few connectors because the plastic retaining clips are broken. RockAuto has multiple connectors for different components so I’m sure they are also available at the local parts stores. I only needed the plastic part so I remove the wires that come in the pigtail and reuse my original wiring. The last time I replaced the whole pigtail was because Ford changed the engine coolant temp sensor from round to square so I didn’t have a choice.
