I have a 1989 F250, 7.5L with a C6 transmission... was looking to get headers, and ordered some ceramic Hedman 89513 headers from JEGS. After doing a bit more research, it seems that according to Hedman's website, those headers don't work if you have a C6 transmission, but JEGS doesn't say that. So far I've looked at other Hedmans, 460EFIGuys (would have to ceramic coat elsewhere), and Flowmaster (no matches). The truck is smog deleted with no cat currently.
I am wondering if anyone happens to know of any decent ceramic coated alternatives that would work with my truck. The headers I had ordered were $880, replacement cast headers from Rock Auto is like $550, so I figured pay more up front if the ceramic coating would protect them longer.
The E4OD is a bigger/longer OD version based on the C-6. I can't imagine whey headers that fit an E4OD wouldn't work on a C-6.... The Y-pipe of the EFI-mid-length 89510 crosses over in front of the trans , then along the right side. The 89513 is simply the black ceramic version of the 89510.
I have the mid-length headers on my '89 with a C6. They definitely hit the transmission cross member.
The other issue is the fuel line connects at the front of the engine by cylinder 5, rather than going down the back of the engine, over the transmission and the fuel lines lay right on the headers and there's no way around it. I got a fuel rail and lines off a later truck and swapped them. You could have an exhaust shop modify the y pipe fairly easily, but the fuel lines are the big issue
bbf385 is that with the Hedman Y-pipe or do the headers themselves hit the cross member? If it's the Y-pipe, maybe i could get a custom one made that wouldn't hit the crossmember.
My4Fordtrucks, if you're referring to A.I.R. etc., there is no smog system but currently is an EGR

The Y pipe hits the cross member. The headers don't touch anything aside from the fuel lines.
