Fuel Line Question

Bought a new Fuel Pump and Fuel Line for 79 Bronco 351M, but the output of the fuel pump faces toward the front of the engine. So, when I install the fuel line, it hits the power steering belt. Seems like the line should point toward the left side of the engine compartment. When I look up the fuel pump online, they all point forward. Am I missing something? Which was is correct? Also, the top of the fuel line points out toward the left fender, instead of towards the back towards the carburetor.

You have the wrong pump
The line should exit toward the driver's side fender

That's how mine is on my 400. You can see my where my hard line runs. It's covered by black heat sleeve, but it's a normal hardline that goes up and across and past the passenger side of the distributor.

Update

Cool, thanks for the feedback. I appreciate the pictures. I ended up just shortening the bottom of the hard line and re-flared it. Hopefully, it doesn’t leak. I’ll have to re-route the top somehow. Maybe just cut it off and use a rubber gas line from the distributor area. To the passenger side of the carburetor. I like the heat shield idea, too.
