So i have a 2013 Ford Expedition EL with the HD tow package. So i was towing my 43 foot camper that was about 2000 pounds over the tow capacity. I do this atleast once or twice a month. Anyway, the last time i pulled it, something happened. So going up the hill, i heard a loud clank noise in the motor and instantly lost all power. Ever since, any kind of hill, it instantly starts to lose power. the codes say misfire in cylinder 5 or 6, dont remember. i changed plugs, coils, everything possible, but still the misfire and powerloss. i put so much money into it to keep getting, " i dont know " . Its frustrating. PLEASE. Let me know if you know what the problem can be. Thank you
But, if diagnostics aren’t your thing, find someone who is good at it. You just spent pretty good cash firing The Random Parts Cannon at the engine and got no further to fixing anything.
With power loss and misfires, I’d have at least popped a compression tester on those cylinders. 🤷🏻♂️
At least the engine gave you hints first. Imagine an axle shaft going sideways from that overload!
