I’ve actually been around this site a fairly long time but I never really introduced myself. I’ve posted a few times but really just kind of hang back and lurk.
I live in the Ozark region of northwest Arkansas on a 40 acre tract so far out in the woods that we pump sunshine in and moonshine out. . . and pave the roads with revenuers. 😂
I have a 2004 F-350 SRW, 6.0 Powerstroke Diesel. I’ve sunk way more in the engine than what paid for the truck initially. At 150,000 (+ or -): KDD aluminum ICON heads, Odawg SR3 intake, KC stage 1.5 turbo, River City billet cam, new lifters and pushrods, ARP studs, new FICUM, new HPOP, new LPOP, new water pump, new oil cooler, switched to CAT ELC with a new KDD coolant filter and a new aluminum tank radiator from BPD. Tunes by Warren. Blue spring, new AC compressor (didn’t need it but while the engine was out!). Fluid and filter change on the transmission. Run T-6 5W-40. The injectors were pretty new when I bought it so I left them alone. The thing has performed flawlessly for the last 50,000 miles and sings like an angry sewing machine with the 10 vane turbo wheel. Just takes all 40 acres to turn it around with those leaf springs up front and rides like a log wagon. Next up is cab mounts.
I mostly drive Fords except for my commuter car since I have a 40 mile commute - a 2010 VW turbo diesel with a 6-speed manual. 45 miles per gallon. 2010 Expedition XLT, 2014 Focus Titanium, 2022 Explorer Platinum. And a 2019 John Deere to keep 1/2 mile of driveway open.
We’re pretty much a Ford family. Daughter and son-in-law live on the same 40 acres in a house down the hill. They have a 2001 F-350 dually with a 7.3 Powerstroke, a 2020 Explorer, another 2014 Focus and a 1963 F-100 with a 292 Y-block and a 4-speed, granny low. We make visitors check their chebbys at the mailboxes. 😆
My toys are all MOPARs. 1973 Plymouth Road Runner with a 400 CI, stroked with a 440 crank (it’s a 451 now). Also a 1978 Plymouth Volare with 34,000 original miles. No cracks in the dash or seats. Headliner is still tight. Wonder how many naugas gave their hides for that interior? Also a 1928 Chrysler Model 52 - all original, no restoration. 3rd owner. My uncle bought it from the original owner in 1960 and I grew up begging for rides in it. Had it since he passed in 2013.
Thanks. Psssst. . . except it was made by Walter P. not Henry. 👍 In that era, they all looked alike. Just like the new cars today.
OMG ME BAD, just looked at the shape and not clearilly enough, rarily today do i think early mopar esp since i play with 34 and older fords doing mods and restores as a hobby with a few buddies
