2019 2.7 ecoboost loss of power to dash

Today truck was running just fine. New battery in September. Parked it. Came back an hour later put key in, and nothing, no lights no chimes no crank, just completely blank. However I did notice that the phone charger plugged in to the outlet had its familiar green glow. So it was getting power there. I decided to try jumping it off. I hooked to jumper cables to another vehicle. Let it sit for a while. Put key in no chimes no light nothing. Started checking jumper connections battery connections all good and tight. Then by chance I flipped open the narrow plastic cover directly behind the battery, which had what appeared to be cables with crimped connectors bolted to a bus. It also had some push in connectors attached to the right side of this cover. As soon as I did this I heard chimes. In the truck. Went to start it, and it fired right up. Took cable off the battery turned off the truck, closed the door opened it, put the key in, lights and chimes and cranked right up. Shut it off three more times continued to start normally. Drove it to the store, and 3 other stops, with no issue whatsoever.
thoughts please.
