Hello all - I Have not been on in a while and I hope everyone is doing well. My 2023 Super Duty came with LT275/65R20E Bridgestone all season tires. At 46,00 miles it's time to start looking for some new ones. I can get a few more thousand miles out of these but usually when I hit the road, I am gone for quite a while and for several thousand miles. I'm looking for some tires that are more for road and rain as I rarely go off pavement with them, the truck has never even been in 4wd. Any suggestions on what some of you are running ? I tow a fifth wheel trailer with this truck that weighs about 12,000 - 13,000 lbs. I appreciate your responses and Merry Christmas to all of you, boomer.
Why not just grab take offs from new trucks for much less $? Looks like the stock works well for you.
im a 3 peak guy up north so can’t recommend better although do see some truck guys on Michelin And if I could get them in a bigger size I’d prolly run a set and see what they are about as the guys on em seem to love em and 5th wheel/horse trailer etc and praise long life and snow ice traction and quiet and ride
I like an AT tread, I drag a 13,000 lbs GN horse trailer around the west. Mostly hiway, But most trail heads are dirt.
I really liked the set of Mickey Thompson Baja AT that I had. 60,000 miles, quiet and nice snow traction. LT285/65r20 is just one size larger than stock, 1/2" taller.
Currently have Falken AT4 tires. They have also been a good tire. at 40,000 miles currently and they easily make it to next for. I got them on sale, Buy 3 get one free so $1200 out the door.
This is really a great tire. Looks really good and very quiet. I was shopping for size, mileage, and aesthetics when I bought my Hercs at 62.5k miles once the stock Duellers were toast. If Michelin made a 37, that would be awesome. If money was no object, I’d look hard at Falken’s.
I echo all the above. For a highway tire I would look at those Michelins. I have never run them but they get a lot of praise. For an AT tire I love the Wildpeaks and will stick with them, but the Mickeys would have been my second choice.
I'll throw a vote in for the Toyo AT3's, have them on 3 of my trucks, 02 F350, 00 Ex, and 98 Expy, they are a great all around tire, I'll be putting a set on my 00 Scab F150/7700/4x soon, the first set I had on my dually I got almost 42k out of them, and that's in the mtns here where you're either turning L/R going uphill or downhill which IME being here for 23 yrs tends to wear tires out quickly...
I recently swapped out my factory Bridgestone's for a set of 35/12.50R20 Kenda Klever RTs. Five days later I swapped the Kenda's for a set of 295/65R20 Nitto Terra Grappler G3s.
The 75lb Kenda's were a 12 ply tire that gave my somewhat lightweight reg cab a rough ride even when aired down. The 62lb / 35 inch tall Nitto's on the other hand are smooth and make my truck feel nimble. A better ride than the factory tires but just a bit louder. The 10 ply Nitto's also have a higher load rating for some reason. The Kenda's sure did look cool but the Nitto's are a better choice for my application.
