FORDPASS Intermittent start failures

2024 Ranger Raptor 3.0 litre engine. Tried to start vehicle using the Fordpass app twice in two days and it did not work. Next day it worked fine. Has anyone had intermittent failures with this and is there a fix? Annoying! Always works when starting vehicle with the FOB but sometimes I am out of FOB range and want to let the vehicle warm up for 5 minutes before departure.

When you launch the Ford Pass app does it show the correct location for your truck and can you refresh that information? The truck has a cellular modem and a sim card. If it can't connect to one of its programmed cellular carriers, you won't be able to start it. The truck could be in a "one bar" signal area. In addition, at the current time we are in a period of great sunspot activity that can play havoc with cellular communications.

yes it shows the location. Truck was in a detached double garage when it failed to start. In the other half of the garage there was a 2023 Explorer which starts with the app no problem. Weird?

Just think of your truck as a gigantic smartphone with wheels. Anything that can affect smartphone reception can also affect the data connection to your truck. By the way, Ford mostly uses the AT&T network for its data connectivity.
