explorer noise

Hello i have a strange noise on my explorer when putting it into drive the noise is not loud it almost sounds like a squeal, then it goes away. you only here it while its going into gear, about 1 second, its not very loud and when the engine warms up it wont do it again. this is a 4.0 automantic. The dealer says it may be the ABS unit but the noise is not comeing from the ABS unit.

it sounds like its coming from under but I don't see how it could be anything else...i don't think ford will replace something if they didn't think that was the cause.

park to drive noise

Well i just started mine this mourning and no noise. I wonder does yours make the noise all the time(when cold)? I cant belive no one knows where this noise is comeing from. I belive its some type of actuator on the transmission/transfer unit. please keep me informed and let me know if yours always does it when cold. DA

Well i just called and i have to drop it off again today to leave it over night again hopefully they'll find it

well they told me they called the ford hotline and the hotline told them its a normal noise for the explorer to make. It's the trans going into gear...I guess the only thing we can do is believe them and someone on here suggested to get a trans flush because when ford sent these cars out they didn't fill up the trans fluid enough
