Question Rough idle

My truck was running just fine before I had the great idea to change my fuel filter. Real easy job. When I finished, I started her up and backed out of the garage. It was at this point I noticed it was running rough like it was missing. Had an associated vibration with it as well. I checked and no fuel leaks. I bled the fuel resovoir but no cahnge. I even put the old filter back in, still the same. I let it run for a few minutes thinking it my work its way out.....no luck. I cant figue it out.........

2002 F-350 PSD, CC, 4x4. All stock.

It can take a long drive to get the air out of the fuel system. The longest I have had to do was 25 miles before it ran right. A friend has had over 30 before it ran right, so it is a time thing. If you checked everything else, it can only be the annoyed PSD - they get annoyed over the least thing..

Try running around with it for a while and see if that cures it. (if you want to see your truck run really rough, get a diagnostic computer check done on it, with the engine started. Then it sounds Really bad.)

I guess it wont hurt it to drive that far the way it is? Is it actually missing or just starved for fuel?

I can't answer that, not hearing it, but I would imagine that my truck is not unique and it runs very rough after I mess with the fuel filter. after a run of spluttering and white smoke it runs just fine, until the next time I mess with it.

The white smoke mine belches out at such times suggests air bubbles in the fuel.

Thank for your help.........I originally thought there was air in the fuel line, but after running it in my driveway for awhile it did not straighten up... I guess I will run it out on the freeway for a few miles.. I can imagine it would be anything else, it only has 25000 miles on it. Thanks again.
