If any of you early 7.3L Excursion guys have ever tried to get PATS deleted and were unsuccessful, this is for you. Or if you need PATS deleted, I guess this is for you too.
We found a flaw in the software that causes some PATS Deletes to be unsuccessful in some of the early 7.3L diesel PCMs. And with that discovery, we can now successfully delete any of the Excursion PCMs, gas or diesel. We're very excited about this find!
Best regards,

More info please. Like cost and what is needed (aka, do we ship you the PCM, or is there a specific flash tuner we need to buy), maybe a link to your website were these questions are already answered.

So this is deleting the PATS feature directly from the PCM factory flashed software, or a delete of the PATS on tuning software?
There is not really a factory way of deleting PATS. It's not something the dealership can do using Ford IDS software. And in this case, I am referring to aftermarket tuning software being incorrect, and not actually working. That's what I discovered. Aftermarket tuning software also relies on aftermarket tuning devices, which are chips or programmers.
I am not doing either. I'm directly bench flashing the PCM using my own methods and modifying the binary file myself. Some aftermarket software companies may get it right. I don't know. I discovered that at least one popular company got it wrong.
We are deleting PATS directly in the PCM, so it won't matter what the PATS system thinks. The PCM won't care what PATS "decides". The PCM will enable the fuel system anyway, and the car will start even while the theft light is blinking rapidly.

No, you don't need to buy any hardware. Although if you already have a programmer, we may be able to work with it, or we may be able to retain that custom tune while eliminating the programmer altogether. But we bench flash the PCM directly, and don't need to sell you any hardware. We have the hardware needed to bench flash it, so you don't have to buy hardware of your own.
I didn't mean to turn this into a sales pitch, so if you would like information about it please just PM or email me instead. - pontisteve@earthlink.net

I’ve Cummins 12 valve and manual transmission swapped my Excursion, the engine tuning device looks an awful lot like a screw driver and Allen wrench, so I’m not worried about keeping a “tune” in the PCM.
I just want the PATS system gone to simplify things. Sounds like you’ve figured out what hex code in forscan controls PATS. If that’s the case,,, I’ll gladly pay you for a set of instructions on what to change.

PATS is often, but not always, external to the PCM. An external PATS module could be in the instrument cluster, in the BCM on newer trucks, or a standalone PATS module, or the PATS module can be built into the PCM itself on some models. The PATS module is the decision make. It decides whether to turn on the theft light, sometimes whether to disable the starter, and always whether to authorize the PCM to start the vehicle.
But the PCM is the enforcement arm. It carries out the decision that the PATS module makes. If the PATS module is the President, the PCM is the Military that actually makes the Presidents commands come true. When we disable PATS, we're telling the military it no longer needs permission from the President. That PCM can and will run the engine every time, regardless of what the PATS module "commands" or requests.
In your case, you already have some other engine and PCM running it. So you don't have to worry about what PATS does to stop the engine from running. Which means the only things that PATS could be affecting in your Cummins swapped truck could be the starter, and the theft light. And the only way they could be affecting you is if the PATS module is external to the PCM (which I'm sure it is). So you don't need a PATS delete. What you need is instructions on how to modify the wiring in your truck just a little bit to resolve the light and/or the starter disable feature of PATS. And yes, we can provide that to you.
