Check your ignition switch
They like to separate where the pot metal meets the plastic, and then they do not always work correctly
Next time it happens, try wiggling the key around slightly, see if the radio and heater etc. come back on
Fun stuff

Thanks a lot Manic for quick reply, seems like I had to replace switch bout 10 yrs ago. If this is culprit do you recommend OEM or aftermarket. Current one is aftermarket.

I would go with OEM Ford, but they were the ones that started fires
The new ones were supposed to have that problem fixed (after the big recall in / around 1995)
Did you wiggle the switch around and have the problem go away?

Well, you could say I wiggled the switch around a bit. I started the truck up and everything was all right, back to normal, no wiggling involved. Still thinking I need to replace switch. Going to call dealer today. After some thought, remembered I replaced the ignition tumbler and key, not the ignition switch. So it's likely the original switch. I've owned truck 22 years.

Called local Ford dealer - they don't stock or no longer make switch or tumbler portion of 1994 trucks. Look like after market is my option.
