I have a 1972 f250, RWD, 3 on-the-tree, Ranger. Single cab, In cab fuel tank.
My Parking brake system needs to be redone all the way. I want to know what diagram I should reference when looking for parts and assembling?
I have attached pictures of what the parking brakes looks like now.I all have is a broken front e-brake cable, a missing right rear e-brake cable, and a complete left e-brake cable. There are not any mounts, equalizer, or brackets.
The first diagram is for Bendix brakes, and the second diagram is for STD. brakes.
The 3rd Image is of the front e-brake cable that is broken at the end. The last image is of the complete left e-brake cable and shows a hole to the right of it where the missing right e-brake cable is supposed to go.
I also took off the cap of the master cylinder, and it says Bendix. Is there any other way to tell if I have Bendix brakes?
I know parts are hard to get like the brackets, would there also be a way to make my own parking brake system?
I tried to be as detailed as I could.
Thank you all!
Check out https://www.fordification.com/partno...brakecable.htm it will tell you what length cables you'll need. The "front" is from the equalizer to the pedal assembly. I ordered new cables, custom length, from https://bruinbrakecables.com/ since there's hardly anything for my 69 F100 4x4. However, for the 72, I think there's more options out there.
