Just noticed an Olympic Peninsula Craigslist posting for a 1974 F100, straight 6, stick shift, missing an eye for $7500. Would you spend that? Seems a bit high to me. Just curious what others think.
Yeah....sounds high...as most trucks I see online are. It just amazes me what people are asking for rusty incomplete trucks and to top it off they throw in **** like "numbers matching" Rant over. But there is a nice looking 74 F150 Super Cab short bed for sale in Poulsbo...it's on FB Marketplace. Pics look nice. They are asking 3000! Looks great for that kind of money. I'd scoop it up but I'd be in big trouble with the wifey. 😆
Here is the link, lots of pics https://olympic.craigslist.org/cto/d...895189062.html
100% wrong door mirrors, extra screws in the door panels. Pretty health looking rust on the dvr floor pan, wonder what it is like under that vinyl floor mat. At least the dash pad is not cracked, and they flipped up the seat cover to show a none destroyed seat. Common cracked steering wheel. NO power brakes, yes p/s.

I agree, like 440 said for 7500 you can find more options (like 4wd) and at least a V8. FB MP is full of trucks, just shop carefully, lots of scammers out there. DO NOT pay a deposit to hold a truck. Face to Face, CASH, AND TITLE deal.
If you find one, post up a link and we will look it over and give a honest and some times painful oponion. But its free free free.

I see alot of rust bleeders out here on the peninsula. I drove my deceased father-in-laws 1975 F250 camper special until my mother-in-law gave it to her son just because. Made it hard to work on her property without a truck. A few years ago I bought my 1991 F150 for $850. Surface rust outside, nice inside, but mechanically beaten. Getting everything working well. Less than the price of new by alot. It will last me for the rest of my life, but I still like to look.

looks much better than I would expect for that climate. but a long box 2wd custom with a 6 cylinder is about as undesirable as you could get if you wanted to.
not something I would ever buy, but if you like it and he would come off that price substantially you wouldn't be crazy.
Now I have a rough idea of the time and money to restore these trucks, $7500 is very high!!! Personal attachments to vehicles are a real thing and that’s when money and the restoration process really does not matter. If you’re looking for value, this is not it.

Hay dont be knocking the 300 2wd (manual & flare side short bed) as not everyone needs a v8 but needs a bed to throw the weekly trash in to take to the dump.
I do use it to pull a 20 ft enclosed trailer on weekends to car shows when needed.
It is not fast but it does get the job done
